Social Media Intercourse

Last Monday was my wife Joanne's birthday and I noticed a number of nice birthday greetings on her rarely visited Facebook page.

Being the ever nice spouse, I alerted her to it and directed her to them. Of course, she was pleased and I encouraged her to "Like" each message.  When she questioned why, I explained that it was "social media intercourse" and by doing so she was reciprocating the intended good feeling of the message.

She did so and it goes on and on.  After all, it is one of the secrets of addictive social media.

Social Media Intercourse takes at least 2 people and, if done right, is a feel good experience :)

It’s such a good way to keep in touch and express emotions succinctly. A good tool for connecting.

It’s a great way to stay close to people you don’t see very often. Good for creating connections and relationships!

It provides a way to stay in touch and I enjoy the use of multiple mediums/media in that regard.

Thank goodness for Facebook birthday reminders. Facebook has reminded me of birthdays in a lot of circumstances where I should have remembered myself.
