Change of Season

Well, sort of.

Growing up, the day after Labor Day always meant the end of summer and signaled a sharp turn towards fall.  Most years, truth be told, I’ve been ready.

Don’t get me wrong. I am a huge fan of summer but I also very much look forward to all of the changes in season.

This year, however, I am not ready and calling a “do-over”.  For one reason or another, I never stepped foot on a beach or into a pool this entire season.  Sure, there are lots of reasons but in the end summertime 2023 passed and I think I just plain missed it.

Of course, this week we are heading into a heat wave (promising sunshine for our upcoming annual golf outing).

Maybe I will finally get to the beach this weekend? Want to meet us there?

I think this summer flew by for many of us. It was real hot one down south and I will be happy to see temps a little lower for sure. The beach is always open by me. Feel free to come down anytime.

Agreed as last Sunday was the first and only day I made it to the beach myself. I do look forward to the fall weather (my favorite weather) and sports!

Summer was long (no Spring 2023) and still going strong. Long live Summer 2023.

We usually close our pool during the week after Labor Day. First year we decided to keep it open longer.

You're going to have to play hookie! But watch those rip currents, they've been terrible this season!
