Resisting Temptation

Have you fallen into this trap? You give a vendor your email address to receive a percentage off of your purchase? I have done so too many times to count. The email I typically give for those purposes is not one I use regularly.

Last week I was looking through the emails and clicked on one that looked interesting. As expected, it brought me to their website and to a particular dress that the vendor “thought I might be interested in.” For a moment I looked at the dress and thought that the email was right, I needed the dress. Before I clicked, I took a moment to reconsider, did I really need yet another dress? I decided I did not, and I hurriedly clicked off of the website.

Of course, I then got several emails from the website reminding me that I left something in my cart and urging me to purchase before the dress was gone.  In response, I went through the emails and unsubscribed to most of the vendors that I thought were not necessary.

I was proud of myself for resisting temptation. Have you resisted temptation today?

Last night I succumbed to the Italian cheese cake. I resolve to be better today...

It happens often and I rarely give my email or phone number unless I am actually planning opurchase the item. I get too much junk mail as it is.
