My iPhone is Watching

It’s a little creepy.  My iPhone tells me, how far I walked, how long I slept, how many hours I spent on the iPhone, and then compares my usage to other weeks.  Once that data is in that little device, I know that I am not the only one to know.

I am convinced that Facebook hears me talking.  Sometimes I think it hears me thinking.  I may not even say something out loud, and then there it is in my feed.  I am so careful now not to “click” or my feed is full based on a momentary curiosity.  Last week I made the mistake of clicking on an ad about Tiny Homes out of sheer curiosity.  Before I could stop myself, that click was live – and now I’m pretty sure I have seen every design of Tiny Home imaginable.

Like I said, it’s a little creepy.

well, I was interested in "tiny homes" as an alternative for an up-state home.... My wife was not interested. ..... About big brother... such an unexpected and equally, perhaps, undesired compromise for the benefits of the internet...

We live in a world of faster change. I wonder how similar the IT revolution is with the industrial revolution with respect to impact on us emotionally nd socially..

Any interactive devise with a mic is listening. I was talking in the room to my son about a brand of boat, my next look up on Google and Facebook had ads for that particular brand of boats. I never looked it up, it just came up, based on my conversation in a room with my phone and my Google Dot. I turn the mic off on the one in my bedroom...

Watching and listening for sure. There’s no expectation of privacy anymore. Good thing we have nothing to hide lol.
