A Good Responder

Are you a good texter? Or, the better question is, are you a quick responder to texts?

During working hours, I rarely look at my cell phone. Sometimes if I see a text from one of my children pop up, I might look but that is pretty unusual.

On weekends if I’m out, my cell phone is usually in my purse. My feeling generally is, if someone needs to get in touch with me, they will call.

Just this past weekend, I happened to be working on Saturday. I had plans for dinner that night and, apparently, there was a lot of texting going on about the plans to which I wasn’t responding. Finally, a friend called me very irritated that I hadn’t responded to the text messages. I felt I had done nothing wrong, as when they needed me, they called me.  And I answered the phone.

Was my friend right? Should I be more responsive to text messages? Are you?

Apparently, these days, texting is the preferred means of communication. I am not a big fan and agree with you, if it is important, just call me.

I'm afraid you know the answer my friend -- and let's just say I know I am in good company!
