In honor of this special day, I thought I'd share with you some great April Fools' Day pranks.

In 1957, the BBC ran a segment about the Swiss spaghetti harvest. They claimed that due to a mild winter and the "virtual disappearance of the spaghetti weevil," Swiss farmers were enjoying a bumper crop of spaghetti. The segment featured footage of people harvesting spaghetti from trees, and it was so convincing that many viewers called in to ask how they could grow their own spaghetti tree.

Another classic prank happened in 1996 when Taco Bell announced that it had purchased the Liberty Bell and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. The announcement caused a national uproar, with many people believing that Taco Bell had actually bought one of America's most cherished symbols of freedom.

In 2015, Google announced that it had developed a new technology called "Google Cardboard Plastic." According to the announcement, the new technology was a physical version of Google Cardboard, the company's virtual reality headset. The joke was that users could simply print out the template, cut it out, and wear it like a real VR headset.

Sometimes after looking at what gets "reported, it seems like every day is "fools" day.. Perhaps we need one day where everything printed or posted has to be factual.

I keep extra shoes under my desk. A few years ago, my office mates took all of the right shoes. I didn't even notice it for several weeks. But, when I finally noticed, I went crazy. They let me go on for a while (especially since they were waiting so long for my reaction) and finally told me what they had done. I joined in the laughter. My feeling was that, if we weren't all friends, they wouldn't feel that they could play a prank on me.

Love to see the big companies joining into the April's Fools' Pranks.
