Facial Recognition

We were returning to the U.S. and going through passport control. We have Global Entry. As we approached the terminals with cards in hand, we were advised to put away the cards and simply smile to the screen.
The symbol spun for a bit and then a big check mark appeared and we were instructed to move on. As we approached the passport officer, she greeted us by name - before looking at our passports (I’m not sure whether she ever did).
Facial recognition. So convenient.
But we’ve also heard of facial recognition used to keep people out of certain venues.
Facial recognition in law enforcement.
Facial recognition for security.
Facial recognition all around.
So make sure you smile at the camera because now they’ll know who’s smiling and not.

We were told not to smile for passport pictures

Facial Recognition is real and spreading all over, including in retail establishments. Big Brother (George Orwell got it right) is and has been watching. Smile and have a nice day!

What happened to privacy? They will now know where you have reservations for dinner and your dog's
name.
