I joined Instagram several years ago when I wanted to see what my children were posting.  Initially, I only followed my children and my very close friends.

Over the years, I have slowly increased the people I follow. First it was news organizations, journalists, and political commentators that I enjoy reading. Then I added a few celebrities and chefs.

I am lately,  finding Instagram to be an interesting place to explore communities that I would not really have had the opportunity to get to “know.”  And I am very much aware that Instagram is seeking to build to my network by sending me ads. For the most part I have not succumbed to their ads except for maybe one, or three.
