More or less...

Last week I read an article about ten foods that we might not be able to find in the grocery stores this year including pet food, lettuce, champagne and corn.

Shortly thereafter I spoke with someone who was bemoaning things she found difficult to continue doing because of her financial situation. Often I hear people complain about things they can no longer do because of their age.

It made me think about how often we focus on what we can't do, don’t have, or what we can’t have rather than the myriad things that remain available and potential solutions and innovations that are possible.

I remember being one of those who saw obstacles more often than opportunity; I see things differently now. It was not something that happened over night, but it was a choice worth making and work worth doing.

What about you? Where do you focus?

Well said! Choice is the most underutilized action in the world. It is amazing how our energy can shift when we make the choice to see possibilities, opportunities and even blessings. Even our oxycontin improves. When I spill milk, I am immediately grateful I have milk to spill. A refrigerator to protect it, etc.

I was so worried about lettuce shortages that I was ThisClose to getting my Food Tower from you. Then the electrical rates in Connecticut went up 50%. Then my spouse declared he didn't want to see another piece of lettuce on the table. So, I have switched to cukes. Next time, I will switch to another spouse.
