If you were to choose a local trip for four or five days, where would you go?

 

We are talking about taking a mini vacation.  Not too far away but far enough that it feels like vacation.  There are so many places we have not been that are on the "list".  Savannah, New Orleans, Nashville, the Berkshires, and many more.  Such great locations, I keep hearing.

 

On our perfect mini-vacation we enjoy food, sites, shows, concerts, beaches and good books.  Wait, add good wine -- at least that's for me.   

 

Any suggestions for us?

New Orleans is awesome 4-5 day getaway! But be prepared to gain ten pounds!

We used to love Cape Cod, but it is pretty dead there until April.
It really depends on when you plan to travel to give a good recommendation.

Agree with Fred re Gurney's for short winter getaway with a focus on R&R. It can be snowing outside and you can be lounging by the Olympic pool, all warm and toasty from your choice of seven exotic showers, baths, massages, etc. under the arched solarium windows overlooking the ocean while snow flakes swirl all around. Enclosed Seaside dining and heated bungalows on the beach are among the the many diversionary options. Sort of like a stationary cruise to nowhere.
