Commonplace

It's mid October and SpaceX has sent 47 rockets to space and landed the second stage of each on a small drone ship floating in the ocean. They have launched more rockets than all other countries combined. Their goal is 52 this year.

SpaceX does this so often it is now common place. I try to watch every launch but there have been so many, it's difficult to do.

I still get excited about each launch. It's such an incredible feat because each rocket is filled with tons of explosive liquid that any small error can be catastrophic (as we have unfortunately witnessed)

Soon, we'll be landing humans on moon again and that too will become commonplace. I am eagerly awaiting that event.

I watch it in person from my backyard almost evertime. There was a flight at 1am today. Too tired to stay up, but it woke me when it was heard. It's an unmistakable sound, unlike any other.

I was recently speaking w a client about this who is somewhat of a conspiracy theorist who doubts Neil Armstrong and said if it's true then "how come we haven't been sending people to the moon frequently?" Any ideas?

And a ton of money. The moon rocket both by Nasa and Musk are in the Billions to develop. Lots of issues too. The SLS rockets for Artimas moon project are liquid Hydrogen and oxygen fuels which give more power for the heavy payload needed to get to the moon and have many more issues and complications than the Kerosene Musk is using for his lower altitude flights.
