Football Season

I have become what one would term as a “football widow.” The only sport my husband is truly passionate about watching is football. So, on Sunday afternoons, Monday and Thursday nights I am left on my own because I have little to no interest in football.

When we were first married, I sort of dreaded football season because it meant that Sundays would always be spent at home. I have, subsequently, learned to embrace football season. I use football days and nights to run personal errands, catch up with friends, or watch television programs that I know would not interest my husband. For example, I watched all of The Crown during football season.

Are you a football enthusiast or a football widow like me?

Football is a major part of our family. Bills Mafia is alive and well in our clan and keeps us connected throughout all the parts of our country where our kids are living! I love football, and love being a Buffalo Bills fan. The strategy, all the teams, the players… and it definitely helps to have had Paul and the boys teach me over the past (20) years lol! It’s awesome to be involved in something else where there is passion, excitement, anticipation and sometimes commiseration. We have a family and friends chat, and we can all be as involved as we want to be. As Paul says, the word “fan“ comes from “fanatic“! (With that said, I did take up knitting a few years back! ;))

Next time you want to catch up during a football game, give me a call. I'll be hanging around looking for something to do :)
