Gotham needs to make a choice -- and  it's not Yankees or Mets but when to see these beloved and successful teams play each other (at Citi Field) in 2023.

As Gotham looks forward to another successful outdoor gathering -- we get to enjoy the splendors of Alley Pond Park in Bayside Queens next Saturday, September 17 for our annual (free) Gotham Picnic and Softball game at Alley-Springfield (entrance on 76th Avenue off Springfield Boulevard; do not forget to RSVP!) and coming off another Annual Bob Formica Golf Outing sponsored by Raj Goel/Brainlink International, Inc. -- Gotham already faces a tough decision for 2023:  As folks who read one of the commentaries in this space last month know, a very large group of Gotham members, their families, friends and colleague enjoys an annual outing to Citi Field where this commentator's Mets hosts Friday's blogger's Yankees.  We have two (2) dates to select from, Tuesday, June 13 or Wednesday, June 14.  Some of the members of my FDR Lodge #613 Knights of Pythias group that also has a group in "our" section are pushing Tuesday; other the Wednesday (different reasons).  Both Gotham and the knights sell out their respective blocks of tickets that support their respective Gotham and Kings-FDR Tolerance Foundations.  This commentator just seeks some guidance from the many Gotham members who already reserved tickets -- You know who you are -- the event is sold out (based on the reservations and the usual order Gotham traditionally places) and if further reservations come in, I may need to request more tickets when I place the formal order (I am sure my Mets rep, Aaron Ryley will like that!).   So Gotham, especially those who placed reservations for the 2023 Mets v. Yankees at Citi Field, what's your pleasure,

Tuesday, June 13?

or

Wednesday, June 14?

More important, in whose uniform will #99 be?

I think either day is fine. They are both in the middle of the week and I assume both are evening games.
I will see you the 17th for the picnic regardless.

One thing is for certain, no matter how the decision is made or what that decision is, it will still be a great Gotham event. I bet you thought I was going to put "someone will complain." I am not always that predictable.

Because July 14th is Bastille Day, perhaps the spirit of independence will add to Gotham's spirit of brotherhood.

There was a monthly typo Sort of like with Animal Farm or a subliminal test. July is June and commentary corrected. Than you Warren.

Wednesday the 14th. It is Flag Day so there might be some free flags to be had.
(Not that I have ever been able to make it to one of these events...Though it is always on my calendar!)

I vote 6/13 for personal reasons.
My bday is 6/14 and I will definitely miss the game.
But, I may be away for both days. So ignore my vote!
