Heat

I'm very grateful I have air conditioning in my home, office and car this summer. It's been quite hot and I don't remember it being so. This inspired me to do a bit of research.

This is from NOAA:

Since the beginning of the 20th century, temperatures in New York have risen almost 2.5°F, and temperatures in the 2000s have been higher than in any other historical period (Figure 1).

NOAA's statement reminds me of Glenn Frey's song, The Heat is on...

The heat is on
On the street
Inside your head
On every beat

And the beat's so loud
Deep inside
The pressure's high
Just to stay alive
'Cause the heat is on

It ha been hot this summer. But we moved down south so it's expected. On the other hand, we have tied several records for hotest days since recording. What we have less by me is rain. That is more concerning than the heat

You would be a cool guy with or without a/c. Aside from the times I lived in Florida where I used a/c sparingly, I have never had it. The summer is short and fans work quite well. And the restaurants don't keep the a/c to cold either so I don't have to deal with shocking transitions.
