Naptime

Anyone remember saying these words out loud when your kids were young only to be met with growling, pleading for five more minutes or some creative bargaining?  Feels like yesterday to me.

They say that youth is wasted on the young.

I have learned that I am huge fan of a nap.  Perhaps I have always been a fan of twenty minutes stolen here and there with some quiet shut eye – but I’m sure that I have come to appreciate the luxury more and more with age.

Transportation motion makes me sleepy, it does not matter the type.  Trains, planes and automobiles all work the same.

So, if you are ever trying to convince someone of the virtues of napping, I volunteer to be your advocate.

How about you?

The Art of napping has come to me late in life. I would expound, but it’s that time :)

I have not napped since I was a kid. It is something I would like to try again, but in my line of work, it seems there is never the time.

I love a good cat nap. Setting my alarm for 22 minutes and waking just before it goes off is the perfect reset for intense brain work. I'm a fan.

I've been a fan of the 20 minute "power nap" for decades. During my political days I trained myself to be able to sleep almost anywhere at pretty much any time and always awaken refreshed. It's a skill worth developing. And FYI, my kids never napped!
