Here is my question for all of you.  Do you still have a land line at home and if so, why?

As my son plans his move to a new apartment in a new city, he signed up for internet and cable with the local provider.  It was not even a glimmer of a passing thought to have an actual phone line.

Of course, in the end – why should he?  He has a cell phone which is with him wherever he goes and undeniably the most direct method of contact.

That led me to think – why exactly do I still have my land line?  I cannot think of the last time that my phone rang and it was not robo, sales, political, etc.  You get the picture. 

So, back to my opening question for you.  Do you have a land line and if you do, why?
