Masks?

I admit it, I’m so tired of wearing a mask!

Forget about forgetting to carry one.

Forget about breathing mask residue into your eyes.

Forget about not being able to read lips or see a smile.

Forget about the hypocrisy of taking it off while eating in close proximity to others.

Forget about smelling your own breath.

Forget about the guilt.

Forget about the questionable benefit.

Forget about those who refuse to wear a mask.

I just can’t wait for the Pandemic to be a forgotten memory!

I sence a political shift. I still wear one on a plane, but rarely anywhere else unless required like at a doctor's office.

Sadly I don’t believe the Pandemic will ever be a forgotten memory. It has imprinted us on so many levels it’s effect will be ongoing for a very long time. COVID is something we will learn to live with - however I think mask wearing will soon be in our rear view mirror.

I have one in every pocket and bag and utilize it when I feel as though I could pass along something to someone else. We know that they do have some benefit in that regard. What I would like to forget is the politicizing and polarizing efforts resulted from such a simple thing.

In court, if we show proof of immunization within the past year, we don't have to wear one. I almost forgot what it was like to be without one there. Before the pandemic I would carry mints with me because I tend to drink coffee in the car on my way to court in the morning. This week I didn't wear a mask but I didn't have any mints either. So I, self-consciously, kept back from everyone. I went and bought mints right after court. It felt good to need mints again.
