Let's Get Together

Categories

Organizing a family dinner together has become more difficult to coordinate as our children get older. Just getting everyone together on days such as Father’s Day is becoming challenging as our children have significant others, spouses etc.  We are learning to alternate or divide the special days with our family and the families of significant others.

Thereafter, even when we can get everyone together, planning a menu for everyone can be daunting. One of us does not eat carbs, a few of us will not eat meat, and another must watch their sugar intake. Menu planning has become a balancing act between everyone’s specific dietary needs or restrictions.

I can honestly say, however, that all the effort that goes into the planning is worth it. Once we are all together, we all truly enjoy the time together. It’s just become more of an effort to make those days happen.

What does it entail to get your family together?

Scheduling, plane tickets, hotel rooms .... and still it is worth it in the end.

Whatever it takes, keeping the family bonds alive is one of life's great treasures/
