So with the legalization of cannabis comes this on the back of a Suffolk County bus...

Following the link on the bus, I learned there's an actual Office of Cannabis Management with this line

TAKING BOLD ACTIONS TO ENCOURAGE SOCIAL JUSTICE, PUBLIC HEALTH AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE LIVES OF ALL NEW YORKERS

Not sure I buy the "Public Health" part but this bus sign had me wondering if they need to pay for this message to be advertised, is legalization the right thing to do?

My first thought was the same as Dan's, they put the same message out for alcohol. The difference is the way to test for the presence of the substances. For alcohol one can easily take a breathalyzer test. I believe for marijuana, it can only be detected with a blood test that officers are not able to do at the scend. It makes it much harder to determine whether the person is legally impaired.

My thoughts are why legalize cannabis when you have to advertise to the public not to drive high.
