A New City

For my travel friends out there, I have a question for you.  How do you plan a visit to a new city? What are the special things you are looking for?

Historic sites? Beaches? Weather? Restaurants? Sports activities?

It occurred to me that invariably, I always start with the food experiences.  My son’s girlfriend dubbed us a family where food is our love language. I think she might be right.

How do you plan to get to know a new city? We are open to suggestions.

Covid times and moving down south have changed our priorates more recently. Normally I would look for a good area to relax, which could mean warm weather, palm tress and a nice beachl. I have all that now where I live. Next would be to tour around, looking for historic sites, museums and interesting cities. With Covid in and out, that keeps getting changed or delayed. We too are foodies, so that has become a focus more than the other priorities. Now, our next vacation will center on going back to NY with my family for the Mets/Yanks Gotham event. Of course Food will play a prime role in this visit as well seeing some old friends and family. If we are lucky, maybe a Broadway show.

I like to walk around to get the feel of the city. Food is important too, I like to check out local specialties. I think in NYC, we all foodies!
