Is It Memorial Day Already?

As the Monday blogger, I always blog on Memorial Day. In the past I’ve blogged on such topics as are you a burger person or hot dog person; topics I thought to be relevant to Memorial Day.

 

Here’s my Memorial Day question for this year, did Memorial Day sort of sneak up on us this year? It seems like just a week ago I was still wearing heavy coats, long sleeves, and boots to work. But this past week, we opened our pool, the bar-be-que, and my smoker. And I put on sandals.

 

 

 

Did I miss Spring this year? Did you?

The speed with which time passes is mind boggling. I am already scheduling for October. I wonder if that's what makes it go by so quickly - aways something to look forward to and then we're there.

Agreed. Beginning of May was 40ish and now we are at 90. Spring disappeared!

You are 100% correct. We had no Spring. Instead we were treated to a gorgeous Memorial Day where a member of our family planned a party at our Cold Spring house which we never really believed could possibly be successful considering the temp since the beginning of May. But the sun came out, the air was clear and warm, and the kids all went swimming or went out into the reservoir on the paddle boats. The barbecue and the paella that my husband is known for were a huge success. I am still stunned and happy at the surprise success.
