Dinner Guest

Did you ever invite someone to dinner and your guest proceeds to order the most expensive steak entree on the menu?

It happened to me recently and after getting over my initial penurious shock I was actually and genuinely impressed with the guest’s self possessed chutzpah!

So it goes…

It is something I prepare myself for when going to dinner with friends! There is always that one person, you either love them or hate them!

Yes, I witnessed this several times. I work with someone that has no problem doing this and it still surprises me when it happens. I was taught at a fairly young age to never do this unless I am paying. I still stand by this today. I think its just poor taste to do so, if you are the guest.

I have had it happen to me and have seen it happen to others. I don't call it chutzpah and it is not impressive when the person is someone who never otherwise orders that way. It makes me wonder in what other ways they take advantage of others.

Leave it to you to find the light in that situation!
Most people would stop at “chutzpah”.

Chutzpah is not necessarily a negative

It is a bit rude on the part of your guest - but if you invited that person with an open heart (which I’m sure you did) any thing he/she orders will have to be OK :-/

Sounds like my ex who would do it time after time.

Looks like the old Fred is emerging. Actually if I knew you were paying I would do the same thing

Some people just don't have consideration for others... at dinner or in business...
