And The Oscar Goes To . . .

Liza Minelli’s words stumble; Gaga leans over softly and whispers in her ear “I’ve got you”; Liza responds “I know you do”.

Can’t we focus on that exchange instead of the Will Smith/Chris Rock mess?  Let’s do it.

Have you seen Lady Gaga perform with Tony Bennett?  It’s warm.   That same sense of warmth was loudly displayed when Gaga wheeled Liza out onto the stage.

Before either one of them said a word, it was clear that Gaga was watching out for Liza.  It wasn’t about Gaga, it was about the superstar legend sharing the stage with her.

And then, they announced CODA as the Best Picture winner!  A fitting way to end an evening.  Can't wait to see it!

I agree, it was a beautiful moment. One human being helping another. And what made it better is that it clearly wasn't scripted and wasn't meant for our ears.

Love this. Our lives are so much of what we focus on… thank you for the reminder.

So true. Lady Gaga respects the elder show biz greats. And Liza is damn brave to go out there!

Certainly an evening of contrasts.Too few focused on the positive aspects of the program.

I have given up watching the Oscars as I would rather vacuum my rugs then deal with the what the show has become over the years. I did at one point of my life (and my family) enjoy and looked forward to the event. I heard about the Will and Chris incident which forced me to catch it on video replay the next day, but I had not heard of the Gaga/Liza moment. I may look that one up too. Yes, would have loved to see those two belt out a duet. I was very moved by the acceptance speeches from Ariana DeBose & Jessica Chastain. :)

Thanks Vic. When my kids were young, we always used to talk about how being angry was a choice, something you were choosing to focus on -- of course, after feeling the emotions of it.
