Gotham’s 25th Anniversary!

Categories
Lifestyle

Last night we celebrated the 25th anniversary of Gotham’s very first meeting.

Imagine, our inception was in the previous century!

So much good has occurred over those many years.  So much business has been generated.  So many lifetime friendships inspired.  So many have lived our “It’s better to give than receive, but what goes around comes around” mantra!

Words can not describe how proud I am to be the Co Founder.

As my Co Founder Nancy Schess often says “It’s all good!”

Last night many early members shared their fond memories and we honored our Hall of Fame (Networkers of the Year) members and other Award winners, plus our Season of Giving recipients.

A new category of appreciation/recognition was announced.  We called out the Pillars of Gotham who are responsible for maintaining our mutual endeavor.

Of course, there was a Cayce Crown Memory Lane video to close out our celebration and set us up for our next 25 years.

Special thanks to Events Chair Norman Spizz for producing another “really good show”!

Here’s hoping you join me at the 50th :)

Amazing Celebration! It was great hearing the heartfelt stories from all the speakers on how they got started in Gotham. Mitch if you're reading this, I'm with you on the dues! Thank you, Fred and Nancy, for having the vision and here's to another 25 years!

Last night allowed us to see all the good Gotham can provide and not just with helping each other with business but how our personal lives have been touched. I am proud to be part of the Gotham family. To the next 25, the best is yet to come!
Cayce Crown

So glad it went well, sorry I couldn’t be there. I’m still a newcomer with only 15, let’s cheer for 25 more!
Benjamin Geizhals

A wonderful celebration and I was so happy to see the old timers as well as our newer members, rising stars, and Young Pros . We shared what has made Gotham what it is and what it will continue to be as we move into the next 25 years.
Shelley Simpson

It was quite an evening - looking back with pride, forward with hope; while expressing gratitude, and having fun in the meantime.
Fred Klein

Of course, the next 25 years will be fueled by our vibrant Young Pros Group!

Thank you Nancy, Fred and all the other Pillars, for all the hard work you guys do and for all the good you have done! Just think of how many lives you have changed for the better!
Tom Gallin

Sorry I missed it, I had an industry event. Thanks to Gotham for all of the help the members have provided over the years. This is a unique group where everyone puts others first. Looking forward to the next 25.

Wonderful event and retrospective. Fred and Nancy you should be proud of what you have created here. Someone once said of the human condition that we were mean to come together not isolate. You have done this and in the process changed so many not just their businesses but their lives! I know you have altered my life in so many ways I am eternally grateful!!!
Victoria Drogin

So sorry to have missed it! I was teaching class - I know Paul sent my love to all. Gotham has been a huge part of my life both professionally and personally. So many friends, so many opportunities! Too numerous to even remember them all! Thank you Fred and Nancy and all - you’ve created magic!

Congratulations on the 25th anniversary. Although I am a member for less than a year I can already see what makes Gotham so special. Looking forward to what the future brings for each of us.

What a great celebration for a terrific organization of people who care so much for other people. Thanks to Norm for putting it together and to Nancy and Fred who made it GOTHAM happen! The warmth conveyed by the speakers was very touching. Proud to be a member and looking forward to the next chapter.

It was a great evening. I see how much I missed by not listening to Norman Spizz and Kelly Welles and not joining years ago. I am glad I am here now and looking forward to more of these good times with all of you going forward.
Fred Klein

You’re like the “baby” in the Family and are most welcome!

A great event - just wish someone would show Fred how to read the Chat! ; )
This event was part of my re-energizing upon my return from a 4-5 year semi-absence on the Best Coast. March 30th is my "due date" for permanent rebirth on the Other Coast. Look out NY - "The Train from Connecticut Runs in Both Directions!!!"
Kelly Welles

A million and one thanks Fred and Nancy for the opportunity to be part of this engaging, entertaining, life-loving journey to make endless new friends, meet fascinating people, open doors every chance I get…and so much more.
Fred Klein

You are a natural networker/giver!!!
Kelly Welles

I follow your lead. My 20 years in Gotham have been better than a Canterbury Tale!

Was thinking where I was 25 years ago. I was working for my local council member, advising a mayoral contender and my now adult kids were still in elementary school. I recall being criticized my a labor politico later a lobbyist after a stint in government for NOT networking enough -- many events were just after work in Manhattan and I preferred to be home for dinner and then go to event around 7:30/8 p.m. There was not much flexibility to attend any weekday breakfast or lunch event. A year later I depart for the Bronx Borough President. I stay after a change in administration only to leave for the private sector a bit more than a year later. I expected when I left to return to government within a few years. Never happened but then I discovered Gotham and for me things turned out rather nice.
Rona Gura

Sorry I missed it. What makes Gotham different is, "It's better to give than receive," mantra. No other Networking group comes close.
