Social media is the new reality and we are all learning its reach and power - for better and worse.

Unfortunately Putin has cut off all social media. And is only showing state sponsored TV. Sadly the Russians citizens have no idea what’s going on. Confirmed by my nephew in Moscow.

Social media, as with everything else has the potential for both positive and negative impacts. And the manipulation of information is nothing new, it just happens much faster.

Very powerful. We sometimes take our right to free speech for granted. This is why social media, which is so ubiquitous mustn’t be censored. To Judy’s point. As for Zelensky, he is inspiring. A modern leader - old style. Did you know he won dancing with the stars in Ukraine. Then started in a reality tv show where he played the Ukrainian president!

Elon Musk turned on the Starlink satellite-based Internet system in Ukraine earlier in the week. Now as long as they have power, and a dish, anyone can get Internet and access to social media and other information.

Great topic and Zelensky DWTS backstory. I highly recommend watching "The Social Dilemma" documentary on Netflix which digs deep into the power of social media. It interviews insiders who helped build social media such as the former FB employee who invented the "like button" and delves into why they left the industry because of how this power was used by the "money making" darkside of SM! It stimulates productive family discussions.

This is a saga for the ages. I hope it ends well…

Great topic today. Zelensky is an incredible role model for his country and the world and yes, Victoria, a man of many talents from comedy to dancing to leadership. My grandparents arrived in the 20's from Kiev,. I always felt connected to Kiev. My DNA results were 97% Eastern European. My grandfathers baby brother was unable to leave. My parents and my dad's siblings all met my Uncle Zelig but we never did. I can't help but think that I have cousins living in Ukraine. That is just added sadness to this horrific tragedy.

On the other hand, I read that 70% of Republicans believe that Biden stole the election.

Too bad Musk can’t provide the Russians with the same gift. They are not getting the truth from their radio, tv, newspapers of internet. I think it would be equally important to bring the truth to the Russian people.

Or internet, sorry.
