We have all had at least one, or now maybe two birthdays since the pandemic began.  Celebrations have turned into gyrations of creativity and honestly it has been fun to watch.

So many of you played an important part in celebrating my birthday this year.  While it was certainly not the picture I had in my head of a birthday celebration outside a pandemic, maybe because of the pandemic it was even more special.

The past few days have been filled with surprises, large and small, and warmth.  Every time I turned around someone else was showing me some loving.   My family, starting with my husband, was at the center of many of those surprises and the warmth just continued and grew. From a text, to a Facebook message, to a bottle of wine (ok, a few bottles of wine), to donations to my daughter’s non-profit, to phone calls, to much special food, you all know who you are.  Each and every one of you made me feel special.

I’ll admit that I was really disappointed about celebrating another COVID birthday.  In the end, though, and perhaps because of COVID, this one turned out as one to remember.
