A Flu Shot

Have you yet?

Bill and I went to our local drugstore this weekend to get our annual flu shot.  What a difference a pandemic makes.

There was literally a line.  Honestly, it was kind of nice to see.  I’m pretty sure the line was a mix of folks getting COVID and flu shots but it made me feel good.

Years ago, I would never take a flu shot.  No real reason that I stayed away, just young and invincible.  Then one year, I had the flu so badly that I was out of work for almost a week.  I can count on one hand the number of times I have missed work for that long when it wasn’t vacation – and I count delivering each of my children on that hand.

In any event, standing on line for a flu shot felt oh so normal.  I highly recommend it.

YES on getting the shot... and, ironically scheduled at the immunologist's office this evening.

I haven't gotten a flu shot in years. The last time I got one, I had some bad side effects and then got the flu (the only year I ever got the flu). My son who goes to school does get the shot every year.

Had one a long time ago because I was taking care of someone who was vulnerable. Never took another and have no plans to do so. At least not this year. The COVID vax is more than enough for me.

I have an appointment for this Saturday. I get the flu shot every year

I always get mine with my annual physical in late October. Have been lucky with no side effects or the flu.

Got my flu shot last month. Also got a pneumonia shot. Yesterday got my Covid vaccine Booster. My mother is nearly 93, her friend who I visit 2-3 times a week is 94. Their friend just "celebrated" 97 yesterday. I have to take off my mask when I visit so they can hear me and see my facial expressions, but I don't want to be the one who kills them.
