The Center of the Universe

Categories
Lifestyle

I start by positing that most everyone operates as if they are the center of the universe.

And most everyone is motivated by self interest.

If you recognize and operate under these core principles you will best be able to negotiate the difficult twists and turns of life.

Harmony occurs when you find parallel interests with someone. Synergy is a good word.

Selfish is not a bad word.

However, all this goes out the window when we encounter those who do not fit into the above “most everyone” category!

The best takeaway is that self-interest, harmony and synergy are not mutually exclusive.

Trying to figure it out every day…

Interesting. Made me think about this and the fit with others seems to be of great improtance. We are all our own centers.

Took me a minute to understand….. I guess you’re saying that we gravitate to people who’s interest align. With our own ….. is that right ?

This is the second thing this week that has steered me towards reading the book Walden by Thoreau. I listen to “hints” from the universe like this, so I will. Thanks Fred.

So many levels to this. How to interact with others for business, how to create successful relationships, how to be self-aware.…I agree we all operate from the inside out.

So many levels that last paragraph makes me wonder…

Yes, the two types of people most difficult to engage with are those who don't value their own interests and those who put their self-interests above others. Neither brings positive energy to a relationship.

But what if you are of two minds…

Interesting blog. I can't even comment. I need time to process.

So I view the center and surroundings and weigh the self interests to understand how and whether those intersect and relate to mine (or not at all).
