The spuds are coming

(Yes, this is a true story) In a neighborhood in Jackson, Mississippi, people are finding bowls of mashed potatoes on their cars, porches and mailboxes.

It was reported that some residents fear there's a more sinister message behind the potatoes.

"Some people were thinking maybe the mashed potatoes were poisoned to kill animals," a local resident who wished to be anonymous said, noting that he almost stepped into a bowl of potatoes Tuesday. "I didn't taste it. I have a three-second rule, so I didn't touch it. But some people were worried."

It's unclear if anyone has eaten the potatoes, and news outlets report residents haven't alerted law enforcement. So if you're going outside today, be on the lookout and remember to bring a spoon and some butter. It was overheard that they were a little dry.

I'm intrigued about the "three second rule". Please amplify!

If food drops on the ground and you pick it up within three seconds, you're good to go!

Bowls? That's intriguing. At least it's not another political hot potato to deal with ...

It takes time to make mashed potatoes. If this is being dumped by the bowl full, someone has an awful lot of time on their hands. Curious the reason behind this.

Please let us know the upshot of this potato caper should information emerge.
