Something New to Bar-b-Que

Categories
Food Blogs

With most of the weekend being a wash-out, I am still hoping that the weather clears later today so we can have a bar-b-que. All of our plans, from seeing the Blue Angels on my friend’s boat on Saturday to having our kids over on Sunday for a day at the pool and a bar-b-que,  were rained out.

We have a large bar-b-que and I love using it. We can put almost anything on it. We have grilled the typical hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and steak as well as vegetables, pineapple and all types of fish.

We are always looking for something new to throw on the grill. Any suggestions of something that you grill that you would recommend we try?

And, lastly, do you spell it bar-b-que, barbecue, or bar-be-que?

Happy Memorial Day Gotham.

I often use BBQ as shorthand but correct is barbecue.
I grill Turkey Sausage as apps sometimes. They go well with the Sautéed Vidalia Onions/Garlic "mixture" I make in a pan on a side burner my grill has.

I highly recommend trying duck (for recipe you can contact me:), beer can chicken and fried chicken (yes, on the BBQ). I wouldn't try brisket right now...it's a big commitment. I smoked one over the past two days and it was a 16 hour cook :)

And, you can spell BBQ any way you want!

No matter how you spell it, it sounds great! What time should I be over! :)

Looks like today will be perfect! As for BBQ, I don't have a recommendation other than ENJOY whatever you decide.

I do usually just say BBQ. We like to do chicken wings and shrimp on skewers. The real question is not how you spell it, but what kind do you prefer? Easy propane, traditional good old charcoal, seasoned wood or the newer pellet varieties? It's all about the flavor vs ease vs speed. You can't go wrong with outdoor cooking in any case.

Agreed with Norman. Barbecue is what we call cooking food on an outdoor grill.

Or we grill on the barbecue! Like driving on the parkway and parking in the driveway?
