Reunited And It Feels So Good

I am truly enjoying seeing on social media all of the post-vaccine reunions people are having with their loved ones. From seeing friends reunite with their elderly parents to friends reuniting, each picture brings a smile to my face.

My first post-vaccine reunion was with my long-time friends from high school. It was a surprise for my friend Mark for his 60th birthday. The combination of surprise and happiness on his face when he saw me coupled with the strength of his hug almost made my heart burst.

This past weekend I finally spent time, up close, with my brother and sister. The last time we saw one another was outside in October for my husband’s 60th birthday. We had held a small Covid appropriate gathering in my back yard with everyone at a safe distance. This time we were able to stand next to one another, hug, and hold one another close. This reunion made me cry.

Who have you reunited with?

It was actually great to reconnect in person with a long-time client and this weekend got together with friends.

My North of 25A Book Club met on Saturday to discuss Tony Celano's detective mystery The Case of the Cross Eyed Strangler in my backyard!

Seeing my parents this weekend for the first time in person since January 2020 right before the pandemic. Cannot wait... Seeing Dana home from UVA tomorrow (!!!) Getting all the kids together in Kentucky in a few weeks to visit our daughter Allie and her bf (they just moved there - right next to Churchill Downs!) let the season of hugs begin! Also lovely, and in some ways as important, is being out and seeing people at restaurants we haven’t been to for so long...

We had the courage to do a huge garage/yard sale this past weekend. It was brutally hot but we cleared a lot of stuff out and made a few $$$. I noticed about 90% were still wearing masks and we did not (we are all inoculated). It's interesting to see who will continue to wear to what functions. My boss also took us out last Friday afternoon to Belmont Park for a team outing. It was beautiful and noticed about half did not wear masks. Slowly back to normal...

I reconnected with the weights at the gym! They are heavier than I remember, but perhaps I am a bit as well. Next week I fly out to see a few of the progeny.
