Sleep Tricks

I have to admit that I sometimes struggle with sleep. I never had a problem when I was young but with age comes wisdom – and apparently insomnia.

Sometimes I read a little, but I often drift towards catching up on the news which, particularly over the last year, hasn’t exactly been like a warm glass of milk. (And I hate warm milk). A little mindless television sometimes helps. But if it’s a good movie, I’m stuck. Facebook catchup? Doesn’t really work for me.

Do you have any sleep tricks Would you be willing to share with a friend?

Never look at your phone once you go to bed, just stay there and it will come zzzz

A great topic. I have a similar issue so I'd be interested in seeing some of the responses.

We discuss sleep a lot at WW, it's so important for your physical health. One piece of advice that's routinely given, no social media for at least an hour before you want to go to sleep. Every study shows that being on social media actually raises your adrenaline levels. Who knew???

I se the timer on the TV for 30 min. Put on News 12 at low volume or look for Home Shopping channel, as long as host is not yelling. Works every time.

We set the timer on the tv and put it on low. My problem is when I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back to sleep. that’s when I try deep breathing, or reading with no blue light.

Reading, top quality liquid melatonin, and my wife's excellent sleep formula. Oh, and a clear conscience...
