Leaves, flowers, bushes, you know...all the stuff that grows in the spring.

George Orwell said it well...“The point is that the pleasures of spring are available to everybody, and cost nothing.”

I'm partaking. Recently, a landscaping crew left a big mess in my yard when they replaced a retaining wall that was destroyed this past winter from a huge black loctus that fell crushing all in its path.

So I raked and raked and raked all of the gravel, pieces of wall and other stuff they left behind. I fertilized, seeded, laid down some top soil, watered and waited...and waited.

Grass

Lo and behold, I was rewarded this morning (see the little green things in the picture :) I am a true Lawn Guylander!

Good feeling to see those green sprouts. If only hair would regrow like that.

Still remember planting two maple seedlings that feature in my natural outdoor zoom background.

All that hoeing and sowing is good for mind, body and spirit. Enjoy! Any plans for summer gardening?
