It's not often I do but I'm trying to do it more....treat myself exquisitely. I certainly deserve...don't we all?

Others may say it's selfish and to those people pleasers out there I know it might feel that way (i get it:) BUT we all need to pay attention to us first before we can help others.

 

Found this quote from Paulo Coelho, a best selling novelist who wrote The Alchemist.

 

"When you say ‘yes’ to others make sure you are not saying ‘no’ to yourself."

Interesting thoughts for a Saturday morning. I wonder if part of that feeling of being selfish to ourselves comes from being a parent? We are so used to putting our children first that we neglect to give ourselves some priority???

The flight attendants always remind us to put the oxygen mask on ourselves first and then attend to the child or person next to us if they need assistance. Same here on the ground. We are no good to anyone if we don't take care of ourselves. Great blog!

I think it also has to do with when you were born. I see today's Millenials thinking of themselves first and spending like there is no tomorrow, in many cases. Older generations where brought up with less and always told to save and don't waste whatever. So treating yourself Exquisitely is almost a forced notion for many of us. As I am getting older, I am starting to switch my thoughts to, "before it's too late", better enjoy life.
