Looking Ahead

So much conversation I hear these days is about reinvention and recreation for your business. My own observation is that coming out on the other side of this pandemic (optimistically) is encouraging all sorts of change.

I’ve heard talk about new business directions, closing city offices, expanding areas or markets through tools acquired over the last year.

[As a footnote, I’ve also heard much talk about how to get rid of that COVID 15. That is the subject of a different blog.]

It’s as if the business world is coming out from under a big uncomfortable rock.

So, what is your post pandemic reinvention or recreation? What new direction do you see your business heading post pandemic?

So many questions, so many opportunities...

I do not see any change but it offered an early glimpse with all working from home of life after retirement (wife's, not mine) which in fact took place as well.

Lots of technology. Work smarter using on line tools. Forced people to ramp up fast. From a professional development standpoint, young people (and more senior people) need to learn the new language of a virtual personal branding and communication. Young professionals, as well as more seasoned business people, will be interviewing virtually at far greater numbers, and they need to know how to sell themselves and make an impression which conveys market value.

The power and success of online training, coaching and presenting and the ability to reach clients more successfully across the country. Last week I was asked to submit a proposal for in-person presentation on Long Island and while somewhat excited at the opportunity- in some ways I feel as if I have to relearn the power of "in-person" engagement! Never thought I would say that.

Technology has allowed us to do business without being there in person. As much as I am not a fan of this, it is likely here to stay in some form or another. Also, business trips will likely be greatly reduced with such technology available.

I imagine the only change will be going back to in-person meetings which will require that I wear shoes more often.

Our Sales Team has been remote for the last 8 years...so this was easy for them. The biggest change is the use of video conferences to get to know the client vs "pressing the flesh". We are now able to put a face to the voice and our clients seem to enjoy it.

Completely understand Jayne! I too transitioned to doing online training. Efficient but honestly, I miss the inperson interaction.

I tried to put on heels recently and literally my feet revolted. I'm not sure how this is going to work when it is soon time to get back into the city.

Great blog! I’m working on boundaries-that office of mine is too available now. Production is up, whilst sitting is more. New focus for me is boundayof all kinds.
