A different time and place

I was discussing a show on TV with my son and he couldn't relate. He doesn't watch traditional TV anymore. His entertainment channels are Netflix, Hulu and YouTube. Books

 

A friend was telling me I should watch a certain show and when I asked what time it was on, he said "Anytime you want."

 

We consume media and information so differently now. Here's where I spend my time:

 

News: Online through Apple News on my iPhone, CNN, NBC, and 60 Minutes

Entertainment: Traditional TV, Prime, Netflix, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram

Sports: TV mostly with my phone filling in

Social: FB, IG, TW, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, Email, and the latest...Clubhouse

And I read or listen to books through my phone.

I get my news on Twitter and it scoops other outlets most times.

I get my news randomly and politics from Corey, engage in the socials for business and fun, watch movies on Netflix, FaceTime with family, Zoom with friends and read books. Too much screen time for sure. It will be interesting to see when and how this will have changed a year from now.

I love that there are so many more opportunities for creativity and that we see shows from other parts of the world easily. I do kind of miss everyone watching things at the same time on the same night. The benefits outweigh the “missing”. It is a glorious world, can’t wait to see what happens.

I get my news from my neighbeor down the block. Se's a nosy yenta and knows everyone's business.

I like getting news in real time. So email and other alerts come via my phone as I work on other devices. I mostly use my TV to watch sports and other media, sometimes via a connect to another device.

not at all. if something matter I open it or open the app via the Mac. If not of interest it just gets ignored. Think of it as the new ticker as the bottom of the TV. In my space, good to know certain news first and thus be the one to advise others.

I get my news from the radio; don't have any streaming services because I don't have time to watch movies. I watch a few things on YouTube from time to time. That may stick, but as soon Covid is over, I'll rush to see live performances.

Mitch, you are the social media king! Even on TikTok! I'm impressed.
