Vaccine Mania

Categories
Health

Joanne and I are above the 65 year old threshold to qualify for an appointment to get The Shot.

We are on an appointment list and I’ve been on a vaccination appointment website twice too early in the morning to get on another list and I just called a special number to get on still another list.  I even complained to the Mayor!

So, despite our better level headed instincts, we have been sucked into the vortex of the Vaccine Mania which is abroad in the land.

If you have antibodies or have been vaccinated you can stop and read no more, as you are “immune.”

In my mind I know that our time will come, but then I am swept along by others striving for immunity.

I don’t know what is worse, fear of catching Covid or Vaccine Mania!

I too suffer from this mania. I have an appointment in April - yet I search everyday for an earlier appointment t

I got close this morning, but too late...

I do not yet meet the criteria for the current group to get the vaccine. Even if I did, I would be in no particular rush. When it is available, I will get it. If you spend your time constantly looking, you may never find it. Think of it like trying to find your true love. It will happen, be patient.

You've both done a great job already of staying safe, keep doing it and you will get your turn at the Vaccine.

Mara and I happen to be one of the lucky few who are looking forward to our second shot in 2 weeks. We both feel very lucky. Unfortunately many people in our age group are not computer savvy and couldn’t get on before it all came crashing down

I had an appointment that was cancelled. Last night I decided to wait impatiently until I can get a vaccine in my neighborhood. I don’t have time to be obsessed. I have antibodies and still wouldn’t change my behavior with a shot. Also vaccines are supposed to be rolled out in a certain manner. So I don’t feel like I should go get a shot in a neighborhood where it’s supposed to go to someone else. I did a good job of rationalizing myself out of mania! Now on to other obsessions.

Here in NYC, we are advised to be tested frequently. I have been tested four times, and the relief to read "NOT FOUND" is tangible. While you and Joanne await your vaccine turns, I recommend you get tested, frequently. Stay safe and well!

You have better things to do than worry. Wear a mask, socially distance and wash your hands. Your dose is coming. My gosh, you are in PARADISE, enjoy it. FYI, some who have had Covid are getting it again, antibodies aren't forever. #BeLikeEsther

Yes, they are. I keep an extra mask with me in case an ear strap rips. My comment was meant to do until you get your vaccines. I got my first on Wednesday, but am not protected until after the second. I plan to be tested again before that.

I am beginning to like being isolated. Which is, of course, a sure sign of mental decay.

Mom on the way to hers in S. Fl this morning. Wonder how you'd fare if you remained near from where I write this post.

Before, during and after the Vaccine arrives, there are immune-boosting protocols everyone should follow to lessen vulnerability. I will share Sylvie's FREE e-book next week with fredslist. P.S.: My brother got COVID after the first Vaccine and is in the hospital. And my brother-in-law is bed-ridden from the second shot. BREATHE. COVID does not like oxygen.
