New State of Our Union (a musical playlist)

Inspired by the change in our nation's leadership, I had tweeted on Inauguration Day (1/20/21), links to "What A Day" by Poco (It starts, "It's a good mornin' and I'm feelin' fine. Smile. I never thought I could be this way. I wanna play. Oh what a day!”) and Al Kooper's Brand New Day (“Last night I had a dream that the world was changing by leaps and bounds. It started up in the bigger cities and spread to the smaller towns.). Since that time I culled my existing playlists and music library and more for songs consistent with the sentiments enjoyed and felt by this commentator and many others here and abroad.

Not meant to be partisan but from about a week following the November election through the actual inauguration of a new president, I sought out songs that give meaning to the change who governs and my views on what it means (If you know not, you’ll need to look elsewhere to find my take.).

I already devised playlists with themes that may overlap in part, including State of Our UnionSongs to Inspire and Doin’ Fine. Some songs from those collections also work in this new, New State of Our Union playlist.

Today, it get unveiled first in Gotham:

Yes I was noting things since Jan 20 and had a robust list set by Friday, kept adding. There might be some I still need to recall and include.

I’d add The Grateful Dead’s Hell in a Basket. Jello Biafra’s Holiday in Cambodia is also apropos. Lastly I’d toss in The Doors The End.
Now is not a good time to gloss over the fact we have a two tiered justice system in America and you’re not going to create unity by ignoring the fact that 70+ million Americans are not ready to sing Kumbaya. The only song I want to hear right now is Sweet Caroline so that we may join together, holding hands and celebrating what binds us versus what tears us apart and forced millions of Conservatives to lose their voice.

A great playlist - Love the Upbeat songs in particular!
As Fred stated: Rock On
ODEY RAVIV

You transmitted a SMILE to my face.
What a list of joy. I am sending it around the world.

Interesting choices for another playlight I am considering. Also interesting and please correct me if you differ is that I believe the song choices did not speak to any partisanship and your comment seems to speak to your view with what you think will happen...It's what makes life interesting...
