My blog today is short. Mostly because I am trying to keep it within the rules and to keep my sentiment from sounding political. But I just can’t write about anything else.

I am so very worried about our country. At the same time, however, I am choosing to be hopeful.

When my kids were young, we used to say that being angry was a choice. Of course, not right in the emotional moment – but right afterwards. I would ask them – “how does it feel to be angry”? And they would respond on cue – “not good”. So then, make a choice to not be angry, we said.

Today I apply that choice to hope. I am choosing to be hopeful that our future will find a way to bridge a divide that appears almost, but not quite, too deep to heal.

Now I hope that you will all join me in not making my blog political and choosing to be hopeful with me.

Most definitely HOPE. Might try a little FAITH too. And do not watch the news. Human Beings are capable of anything, thats the good news and bad news. The odds are in our favor.

Harvey Milk wrote that "hope will never be silent." I would add that sometimes all we have and all we need to keep us moving forward.
