I'm A Little Bit Obsessed

I have become obsessed with watching “The Crown.” It is the story of the current Queen of England’s reign. I first tried to watch it from the beginning, episode one, season one. But I quickly became a bit confused as who was who and I stopped watching mid-episode.

After a friend raved about “The Crown,” I tried a different approach. I watched the current season first. This season primarily chronicles the story of Charles and Diana as well as that of Margaret Thatcher. From the beginning of the first episode of the current season, I was hooked.

Upon finishing the current season-season four-I went back to season one with a new knowledge as to who each character was. And I have found the series to be fascinating. It has taught me how little I knew about British history, i.e. I had no idea that Winston Churchill was the prime minister when Elizabeth became Queen or that he had the ability to delay her coronation for sixteen months. Every episode has taught something new and fascinating about British history and culture.

While I may have begun watching “The Crown,” in an unconventional way, I am so glad I stuck with it. Have you watched? What are your thoughts? What shows are you obsessed with?

There is so much I didn't know about and, after the episodes, looked it up to learn more.

Talk to my husband about that. He's a diehard Jets fan. I think he's doing the opposite, taking a break from football. :)

I binged on it when I had the virus ... I kept it going so I knew I was still alive and I knew the story so I didn't worry when I dozed off. From what I remember it was pretty good. Not sure I will watch the new one.
