Snow

The joys of winter! It's beautiful...everything coated in white, brisk mornings where you can see your breath, the crunch of snow under your feet and sitting in front of a nice warm, cozy fire.

And of course...battling with the snow thrower, slipping and banging your head, shoveling really heavy snow and dealing with drivers that should not be on the road.

Ralph Waldo Emerson sums it up for me...

"The hard soil and four months of snow make the inhabitants of the northern temperate zone wiser and abler than his fellow who enjoys the fixed smile of the tropics. "

And the dogs that insist on frolicking in the snow and covering themselves despite their winter coats in ice pellets

But not having to stress about getting into the city this past Thursday for a court conference since it was virtual. . . .

Back in the day when I had to shovel it and drive in it, I detested the snow. Last week I had my run and my long lovely walk in it. It was wonderful and I am done. It can go away now. As for the inhabitants of the northern temperate zone, I agree completely with Ralph.

I must say it was a welcoming sight to see the ❄️. Madison and I had a blast, we threw snowballs, she made snow angels, and she help me clean the snow off my car and her mom’s. We were in our own winter wonderland!

Beautiful at first, then the chores of digging and scraping and salting. Then the white turns to gray and becomes a mess. Fun at first but like Fred, I can't wait to get to Floruda again soon, even if just for a few days..
