Some music to brighten the holidays

In these pandemic plagued times where most in person holiday gatherings shrink to households and some enlarge by virtual means, why not add some music to help brighten our moods.

This year’s version of Happy Holidays in Song now features 103 songs, albeit one video required a search for a replacement by the same artist (ask off list please but I coincidentally will share same artist needed an update for the new year playlist).

Last year’s blog listed 100 but I defer to a request to keep things short so just click here to view the many selections. I only note it starts with John Lennon and concludes with Laura Nyro. It probably covers all musical genres.

It remains open source so folks can suggest tunes that may just grow a rather large list. So it includes tunes I enjoy and I certainly curate the order but it remains the only true “audience participation playlist I curate. If you choose you may cherry pick and make your own; if you want to celebrate only one holiday musically, you get the ability to select from Chanukah, Christmas or Kwanzaa, and those secular types, Festivus. If you want a song added the only requirement remains YOU need to include the YouTube link (Please do not propose a song without a link; to do so would be bad form; in other words, no link, song song added.).

Do enjoy (All links verified working at time of posting.)

YouTube Playlist [verified and updated – 2020-12-05].

If you have Apple Music, you can also play its version.

Thanks for the playlist Corey! I’m always scrambling around looking for a playlist from Alexa and get these wired holiday playlist that’s all over the place. Now I can enjoy the classics all in one place, thank you Corey. Love me some Nat King Cole “ Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire”.
