Confluence

Saturday was surely one extraordinary day to remember for all time.

What with the unseasonably warm weather and the ever building tension to declare a victor in the hotly contested presidential election race, we were poised for it.

When the news came at around 11:30 am, it was like a dam broke and there was release, as people poured into the streets in jubilation for their winners.

It was not planned.  It was spontaneous.

It was fueled by the confluence of the unseasonably warm cooperating weather and events of the moment.  It is unimaginable if it was icy, snowing or raining.

It was Nature's perfect moment in time!

My story for that day ..., I was in NYC joining in the jubilation along with millions of other New Yorkers .... and I got ticketed for honking my horn. NYPD supported the loser :(

Indeed it was!
I've been looking forward to your blog today. Hearing last Saturday's momentous news might be one for "Where were you when you heard that Biden won?"
I had just parked my car, looked at my phone and had voice mail and text messages. Then I made calls to share the news. What a fabulous day!

How come I didn’t think of Where Were You?

I rarely disagree with you Fred —but rain sleet hail inches of snow— people would have been on the street celebrating. We saw unbridled joy at the possibilities of what might and can again be— unfortunately this past week raised the levels of fear again.

It was truly a beautiful day. After services, we went to Central Park for a walk. All of a sudden there was honking and shouting. It was like a celebratory wave that started on the street and went along through the throngs of people in the Park. What struck me the most was that so many were young people who were clearly engaged in the results.

It was a grand day. Living in NYC is such a gift. Now lets begin to understand that half the country is not happy with the result. Lets realize each and every one of us has work to do to build back better. #maskup

On Saturday we headed to the City to enjoy the beautiful weather with our daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law. As we exited the Midtown Tunnel, we heard bells, cheers, music--for a moment, I feared he worst and then the yells of" Biden won, We won" could be heard. We picked up our kids and headed up to Central Park where the celebration continued. It was a truly joyous day--a moment in time I will always remember.

Careful with the rush to exhilaration. Just as fall turns to winter emotions must be tempered and rush to judgement should be paused just as it was in 2000. Several states will have a recount and should POTUS not concede, the Constitution provides a remedy via the House of Representatives. Each state gets one vote. Currently there are 37 Republican states. We all need to take a deep breathe and allow the process to unfold. And by the way, there is no such thing as “The Office of The President Elect”!and although customary, and generally good for a smooth transition, there is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that states that a sitting POTUS must concede! What did Hillary Clinton say to Joe before the election...no matter what, do not concede. Hilary is a very smart woman. Don’t you think she may know something that most of us forgot about from our Civics courses in high school?

Anyone that says “it’s over” is a partisan and really doesn’t know how our Constitution works. Dan-O is right !

I’m used to folks disagreeing with me :)

306. It's over. And I'm an attorney. I know exactly how our Constitution works.

Some other Biden supporters "celebrating":

"Trump supporters were bombarded with fireworks while dining at a Washington DC restaurant following Saturday’s “MAGA Million March” in the nation’s capital — one of several outbreaks of violence at the demonstration, according to reports.

Footage from the encounters shows a small group of Trump supporters sitting outside an eatery near the White House when a large crowd surrounds the patio and exchanges words with three diners, a video posted on Twitter by NBC reporter Shomari Stone shows.

Other diners begin to leave as counter-protesters can be seen hurling debris — and then fireworks — into the patio, lighting it up with sparks and forcing the last three Trump supporters to walk away.

“Trump supporters are eating outside at a restaurant, 2 blocks from the White House,” Stone wrote in the post. “16th & K St. A large group confronts them. Someone throws what appears to be fireworks. Moments later, police push back a crowd that wants to confront Trump supporters.”

Elsewhere in the city, anti-Trump protesters also threw liquid and other items as the pro-Trump rally broke up, while others snatched Trump flags and hats as the demonstration wound down, Insider said in a report."

Guess who else is celebrating a Biden victory?

"Some Arabs say they are worried when they see the Muslim Brotherhood celebrating the results of the US presidential election. These Arabs fear that the Muslim Brotherhood, backed by Qatar and Turkey, is preparing to make a comeback under a potential Biden administration."
