Inventory

This week I’m taking personal inventory on what I deem important vs what others deem important. Am I living intrinsically or am I motivated extrinsically? I’ve never been a fan of allowing others to dictate my decisions, nor do I desire the responsibility, or weight of other’s decisions. Why do individuals feel compelled to convince others to have the same beliefs? Is it okay to be an individual today, or has collectivism replaced independence? Celebrating our individuality is what creates flavor. Ideas are what keep us growing. Are you authentically living your unique self?

Being left-handed gives me a certain freedom to be me!

Great question. In todays environment it seems very two sided. No middle ground. Being an individual can create stress more than ever, unfortunately.

This is a constant dilemma. I believe that there needs to be acceptance for both. Finding a balance is crucial.

Maybe being someone forced to change from left to right taught me to not let that happen again!

Community is important and a strong community is made up of strong individuals. To answer your question, people who push their beliefs on others do so because they are not all that secure. Secure individuals are busy living life not worried about what others think and without needing followers to validate them.

Another great Carly question lands at our doorstep of this age-old human dilemma. I crave my privacy but mostly because I spent a lifetime putting "me time" on hold. At some point, as we mature, I believe we strike a balance. There is definitely a duality in being human. Those who seek meditation, peace or time-outs seek a pathway to oneness.
