Summer’s almost gone

Yeah it’s almost gone.

Above are lyrics from song of the first phrase by the Doors. The LP is Waiting for the Sun.

It goes back 52 years.

It concludes with a question,“where will we be?

In this summer of Covid what do you wish for the fall and winter. In part I post the question as we continue to face limits on some activities we covet/miss and the sooner time passes, and we endure, perhaps solutions to what we face this summer and faced last Spring, will come to the for.

Thoughts?  Wishes?  Prayers?  Ideas?

The pandemic has impacted so many aspects of our lives —one of the most interesting is time. Days, weeks, months seem somehow to just merge, No longer having the same meaning or definition

I miss spontaneity. Everything has to be thought out in detail. Where to go, how many people, will it be safe etc. Going to a party later and now worried if it rains. I don't feel comfortable being indoors with the same people. The easiness of summer is not so easy this year. Praying for safer, better times.

My birthday is July 6 and my daughter is August 1. We always say, on my birthday that the summer is just beginning and, on her birthday, that the summer is almost gone. It's such an ingrained demarcation for us.

I try not to wish the time away. It's too valuable and I feel like we don't get enough of it. My prayer is that we all thrive and live in good health and prosperity; that we all get to live out our passion and mission in life; that we love deeply, laugh heartily, and always remember that the limitations and disappointments we continue to live through will pass and it's on us to turn toward the good stuff. And ride the circuit and much as we can! Just sayin'

Time does seem to pass faster and faster, especially during the pandemic. I do look forward to some more normalcy with work and hoping the economy picks up so my line of work can thrive again. I miss being able to travel more freely without worry or having to quarantine. Love the Doors song reference.

Funny, I always thought of my Birthday, July 28th as the beginning of the end of the summer. Now that I have my son's birthday on the 8th of July and My wife and I anniversary on the July 5th, those have become the beginning dates for us.

Travel. Hmm.... Shelly and I catted about just that in the car today. Interesting how the lyrics came to me as I pondered this blog.

Hope that we can get those Covid numbers down and feel some slow return to opening
museums, theaters, sports, and music venues!
