Calm

In the midst of everything that is going on, we strive for a few moments of calm. Over the years, I’ve tried to adopt various forms of relaxation - unfortunately most efforts have not been successful.
Recently, we came across the app “Calm” and have been using it every morning.
Five minutes of guided meditation.
Recognizing the need for calm was the first, and perhaps, biggest, step. Commitment is next. Happily, in the midst of all this chaos, it seems to be working.
How do you find the calm?

Calm is definitely a state of being. Remaining calm in crisis, finding calm in stressful moments. Calm for me is mostly through exercise, long walks and quiet time.

So hard to find calm lately. I think getting away (love Hawley, PA) and spending some time away from work email is they way these days.

My practice is similar to yours in that I start my day in calm ... I stay in bed for 20 minutes during which time I focus on things for which I am grateful. I repeat that before I go to sleep when I am done reading. The bedtime routine doesn't usually last 20 minutes.

I've been meditating regularly for about a year. Very hard to calm your mind but so worth it.
