Phase 2

Yes, it has arrived. Phase 2 on Long Island.

Truth is that I had started to enjoy referring to my husband and my son as Fluffy and Puffy. Lots and lots of hair growing in this house. Very much the “quarantine effect” for the men.

But haircuts became legal this week on Long Island and both Fluffy and Puffy were able to get appointments with the barber.

Just the fact that they now had to make an appointment made it different to start. But the barber shop was clean, lots of masks everywhere, plastic partitions between the chairs – and extremely strict 20-minute appointments. And, of course, the hand sanitizer douse before and after. I think this is our world for a little while.

It is amazing though how a little grooming can change your whole outlook. With the “de-fluffing” and “de-puffing”, it was almost as if we had a little normal back. OK, only a little, but I will take it.

I know some are taking the opp to grow their hair (and show their silver)...

I was holding off on scheduling a haircut and color. But I'm back in the office and I forgot how harsh the lights can be!! I may be making that appointment sooner rather than later. :)

Will wait a bit longer before I go into the shop---my hairdresser gratefully has agreed to do a home visit (masks and on the deck)

I am sooooo ready for phase 2! Getting my haircut is the only thing that will change for me from phase one. The threat from the Governor to delay due to bad actors and tattletales made my overgrown locks stand on end.

I guess I was lucky with two haircuts already by my wife. I almost think I may not go back to a traditional barber shop for quite some time unless for a special event. Silver Linings as Fred would say.

First monthly book club meeting in person Since February - in the garden. So happy. Ordering pizza.

I got a kick out of those nicknames!! I love that! My viking hair will soon be dreadlocks.
