On line or Online?

I do not wait on line anymore to shop, unless of course it is the supermarket or Costco last weekend. Instead, I shop online more and more. I kind of like it.

Pre-COVID, my weekend was often spent running errands. Multiple stores, multiple items, multiple trips. Well, those days are over.

Now instead, I sit and shop online for items that I never would have purchased this way. Sure, it takes some of the fun out of reading labels and enjoying the shopping experience, but I think I am enjoying reclaiming some time in my weekend.

Just a thought about a silver lining for me in this COVID cloud.

I find I often spend more time shopping online. More to look at and consider vs what a store or two has to offer. Then option anxiety sets in and pulling the trigger becomes even more of a challenge as I end up "carting" items so I don't forget and do research later. Funny how time gets taken up regardless of how you shop.

I definitely like shopping on line, but the deferred gratification of not having it when I want it is sometimes a bummer! Definitely a lifesaver for things I don’t “need” immediately - and don’t love to shop for - like kitty litter! Gotta love chewy.com !!

Have been doing my grocery shopping online--actually begin before Covid, at the suggestion of a client, although a bit harder after everyone starting ordering online. Not only saved time but kept me from all my grocery impulse shopping. Chewy auto deliveries were also how I did my pet supply purchases pre Covid, now as with groceries a bit more of a delay. Some stores were fun to wander in-- like garden centers and hardware stores, and Young's Farm (local farmstand in Old Brookville) but these days even those are curbside pickup now, although do look forward to being able to wander again.
