Naps

Some day we will look back upon these unprecedented times and the beginnings of new norms and habits.

Such a long view is not necessarily for me, but one thing has emerged for me.

I have converted my 2 hour commuting time productively.

Yes I Zoom (not my favorite pastime), but, best of all, I have started to nap.

As soon as 11:30 rolls around, I lay my burden down (thank you Chuck) and with Charcoal snuggled by my side I quickly and irresistibly start to Zzzz and enter the land of Morpheus.

After about an hour I awaken a bit groggy ready for my (second) day.

It’s a wonder I made it this far without it!

What a great practice. You get 2 days for the price of one

Perhaps your ability to nap has more to do with optimism and self-confidence than anything else. You know that giving your body and mind some rest isn't a waste of time. In fact, we are more productive and effective when well-rested. I like to take a 20-minute "power nap" most days. I wake up refreshed and get right back to work. Maybe now more people will start doing this.
Daniel Schwartz

I have found if I try to nap during the day, I usually can't fall asleep easily at night. But there are definently days a good nap would feel good.

I am literally physically incapable of taking a nap. Although I’ve often heard the virtues of a “power nap” no matter how hard I try I just can’t. My family knows if they ever see me sleeping in the day it means I’m really sick

Never say never. It creeps up on you...

Glorious. I tend to take my re-charging in the afternoons. Why not recharge your battery?? I love all of the natural adjustments we can allow through this change. I feel much better about my balance in life, than I did before this pandemic

I didn’t realize you were a fan of the Matrix franchise. The Captain of the Nebuchadnezzar they call you . AKA. Laurence Fishburne. Naps in the Afterlife ? Oy! Is that what I have to look forward to ? The worst part about a nap is getting up and trying to exit my state of Morpheus . Naps do me in for the day and beyond . Oh yeah they feel good going in but tare me up coming out . Not worth it . Very few ideal times for a snooze . Too much gathering of my psyche to recover well and quickly . It seems like an extraordinary event . Me and naps . I work too hard to maintain my edge . A nap destroys it . My psyche goes in the toilet . I feel guilty . Which makes it worse . I equate naps with old age . Blah .

I'm with Neil. Didn't know you were a Matrix fan. I have seen each movie several times. It never gets old.
