TP and Chicken

I had a good laugh. On my way home yesterday I made my usual stop at Whole Foods to pick up a couple of things including some prepared food for dinner.

empty shelves

The store was a bit busier than usual but not too bad. There was plenty of fruit but the fresh vegetables where basically gone...not unexpected.  I walked down each aisle to see what people were buying. All the cleaners, paper towels and bread were gone but much to my surprise there wasn't any toilet paper left. Are we going to go to the bathroom more? I smiled at the thought.

I strolled deeper into the store to see what other type of products people were panic buying. The stuff you'd expect was gone like milk and other dairy products though the meat counter had plenty of beef, pork and lamb.

But unbelievably the chicken shelves were totally bare! Not one drumstick or wing was available. Now I started to laugh out loud. Chicken?!? Really?!?! I have never seen the chicken shelves so empty.

Maybe eating chicken causes you to go to the bathroom more often ?

We are living in unprecendented times and I guess our buying patterns reflect that. In any case, roast some chicken and enjoy your bathroom visits.

Stay healthy everyone.

The reason people have stopped shaking hands is due to the shortage of toilet paper

All paper goods were gone at the Westbury Costco Thursday. No napkins, tissues, paper towels or TP...and the chicken was a hot item! If need TP the 99 cent stores have stock, at jacked up prices :/

Always fascinating what choices consumers make. I sometimes stock up on items often out of stock (Crispix & store brand variety Crispers, Cozy shack chocolate pudding) and dry goods I prefer not to regularly pick up.

Went to PA on Saturday. Same rush to said items are gone. We did find bleach at a Dollar General. But no TP, No wipes, no hand sanitizer or alcohol. Now add flour to the list of sold out items...None to be found anywhere.
